Nature of the Site

This is a private reference site, not a sheriff, jail, court, or corrections portal. It does not possess official inmate files, release entries, court records, or supervision records. Its operators cannot confirm custody, order or carry out a release, change a government record, submit a filing, or provide instructions on behalf of an agency.

The site points visitors toward official Gates County resources, outside receiving-jail channels, North Carolina correctional and court systems, and federal or immigration locators when those systems fit the custody being researched. Some pages also connect visitors with independent research tools. Official records remain with the agencies that create and maintain them under North Carolina law, including the public-record framework in Chapter 132 of the North Carolina General Statutes.

Acceptable Site Use

Access is allowed only for lawful, respectful use that does not interfere with the site or harm another person. By using the site, you agree that you will not:

• Violate a local, state, federal, or other applicable law.
• Use information to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm anyone.
• Rely on site content for employment, housing, lending, insurance, or another regulated decision.
• Attempt to enter accounts, systems, data, or restricted areas without authorization.
• Deploy bots, scrapers, crawlers, or automated collection tools against the site.
• Damage, overload, disable, or disrupt access for other visitors.

No Consumer Reports

Gates County Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not furnish background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports. Its advertising and search partners do not offer screening services through this site. You agree not to use information obtained here, through a linked resource, or through an embedded third-party tool for:

• Hiring, retention, promotion, firing, or any other employment decision.
• Tenant selection, lease approval, or another housing decision.
• Creditworthiness, lending terms, or insurance rates and coverage.
• Licensing, permits, or eligibility for a government benefit or program.
• Any additional purpose governed by the FCRA or similar law.

Outside Resources and Links

Links may lead to sheriff and corrections pages, release records, court systems, federal locators, legal-aid information, or independent search services. A link does not transfer control of that resource to Gates County Released Inmates and does not amount to an endorsement. Outside operators set their own content, privacy practices, pricing, terms, and availability. Review those policies before submitting information or using an outside service.

Service Without Warranties

The site and all material made available through it are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, no express or implied warranty is made that:

• Information will be accurate, complete, current, or suited to a particular need.
• The site will remain available without interruption.
• Code or content will be free of errors, bugs, or security weaknesses.
• An advertising partner or search provider will return complete results.

Custody data and public records can change quickly. Gates detainees may also move to an outside jail, state custody, federal custody, or immigration custody. Nothing published here is an official statement from the Gates County Sheriff's Office, a receiving jail, NCDAC, a court, or another government agency. Verify the relevant fact with the office that created the record.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, Gates County Released Inmates and its owners, operators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss arising from access to, inability to access, reliance on, or use of the site, its content, a linked resource, or a third-party tool.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Gates County Released Inmates and its owners, operators, contributors, and service providers from claims, losses, obligations, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your use of the site or your violation of these terms.

Ownership of Site Material

Unless otherwise identified, the site's original text, graphics, logos, organization, and code belong to Gates County Released Inmates or its content partners. You may not reproduce, alter, republish, distribute, sell, or create derivative material from protected site content without prior written permission from the applicable owner.

Updates to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on the site. Continued access after an update means that you accept the terms then in effect.

Suspension of Access

Access to some or all of the site may be restricted, suspended, or ended at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice. This right does not limit any other remedy available for misuse or breach of these terms.

North Carolina Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to rules that would select another jurisdiction's law. Any dispute concerning these terms or use of the site must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction within North Carolina.

If a Term Is Invalid

If a court finds one part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue in force. The affected language will be limited or adjusted only to the minimum extent needed to make it valid and enforceable.
